Urological Program

The Urinary System is designed to eliminate waste from the body. It includes the kidneys, bladder, ureters and the urethra, as well as the prostate. Certain conditions can keep these organs from functioning properly, which can lead to infections and even serious disease.

The Urology Program at Coral Gables Hospital offers quality urological care for men and women – including male and female sexual dysfunction, prostate conditions, and kidney and bladder disease – in a sensitive and caring environment.

Our Team

Our program provides comprehensive care from a team of surgical experts with the most advanced training and experience. We know some urological problems can be uncomfortable to discuss so we approach each case with a special sensitivity so that you can be assured you are receiving excellent medical care.

Services

Erectile Dysfunction – Penile Implantation - Erectile dysfunction is a common occurrence among men and is usually associated with health conditions, medications or surgery. The answer for many men is Minimally Invasive Penile Implantation. Learn more about our minimally invasive procedures >

Prostate Disease - Roughly 50% of men experience the effects of an enlarged prostate by age 60 and that number can grow to 90% by age 85. The Urology Program utilizes a minimally-invasive procedure called Transurethral Resection of the Prostate (TURP) to remove part of the enlarged prostate and relieve symptoms without the need for open surgery. Bladder Conditions - Bladder conditions can include urinary incontinence, bladder prolapse and urinary tract infections. These conditions can affect men and women, though the majority of cases occur in women. We provide a variety of treatment options, including medication and surgery to relieve symptoms and restore normal urinary function.

Kidney Stones - Kidney stones are one of the most common disorders of the urinary tract, causing intense pain for millions of people. Our Urology Program offers lithotripsy, a machine that delivers shock waves to break up larger stones so that they can pass through the urinary system.

Kidney Disease - The kidneys are responsible for removing waste products from the body. If the kidneys stop functioning, infection and even death can occur. Causes can range from diabetes and high blood pressure to poison and inherited or congenital conditions. We offer treatment for moderate to severe kidney failure.
