Coral Gables, Florida (October 29, 2015) – Coral Gables Hospital congratulates Dulce Rodriguez, RN, quality manager, for being honored as this quarter’s DAISY Award winner. Rodriguez previously served as the wound care coordinator before her recent promotion to quality manager.

“Dulce worked tirelessly to help expand our wound care program and she wasn’t satisfied with just good results; she wanted outstanding,” said Patrick Downes, CEO of Coral Gables Hospital. “We congratulate Dulce for her perseverance and for being a role model for her colleagues.”

The entire quality department came together to nominate Rodriguez for this award. She is described as passionate about her work, her co-workers and, most importantly, her patients. Rodriguez has adjusted her regular schedule to meet individual patients’ needs. She is also respected by physicians for her devotion to her position, her efficient communication and for consistently following up on tasks as needed.

The DAISY Foundation was created in memory of J. Patrick Barnes after he passed away from an autoimmune disease. His family was so touched by the compassion and hope provided by the nurses who cared for him that they created the DAISY Award. The award honors nurses who provide excellent patient care while simultaneously providing extraordinary emotional support to patients and their families.
