Coral Gables Hospital Welcomes New Controller

Coral Gables, Fla. (March 14, 2016) – Romaine Layne joins the staff at Coral Gables Hospital as the new controller. In this role, she will assist with the fiscal oversight of the hospital’s operating budget and revenues, help the chief financial officer with the annual budget process, and prepare the Medicare and Medicaid journal entries.

Prior to her current position, Layne served as an assistant controller at sister hospital, North Shore Medical Center, where she managed the accounting department’s daily operations. She was also previously a senior accountant for Penrod Management Group in Miami.

“We are pleased to welcome Romaine to our Coral Gables Hospital team,” said CEO Patrick Downes. “Her expertise and understanding of the financial healthcare environment will be instrumental in continuing to move our hospital forward.”

Layne received a dual bachelor’s degree in accounting and business administration from Florida International University. She also earned her Master of Science in Accounting from Nova Southeastern University.
